This coming weekend Grenada will be duly represented at St. Lucia’s Carnival. Two carnival aficionados – Andy Chichester and Neil Ferguson will be adjudicators in the National Panorama competition and the OECS Soca Monarch Competition respectively.
Both gentlemen have been very active in the development and growth of both steelband and calypso here in Grenada. Andy is a well-known pan arranger and member of defending panorama champs Republic Bank Angel Harps. Neil has been a key component in the development of calypso through junior calypso workshops and has been a prolific calypso writer, penning several winning compositions.
Reigning Soca Monarch champ Boogie B will be one of the competitors in the OECS Soca Monarch competition, taking place in St. Lucia this Sunday.
The Grenada Carnival Committee wishes Boogie B the best of luck and is confident that all three gentlemen will dutifully represent Grenada.
