JUNIOR CALYPSO WORKSHOP - Feb 13th, 2006

The Grenada Carnival Committee along with the Parish Carnival Committees will be hosting a series of workshops for Junior Calypsonians. The workshops will focus on the writing component of the artform.

The Grenada Carnival Committee has recognized the need for the growth and development of the artform and writing was identified as one of the areas of weakness.

The workshops will begin on Saturday February 18^th at 10:00am with youngsters from St. Mark’s and St. Patrick’s being facilitated at the Chantimelle RC School.

Another workshop will also be held on Saturday February 18^th beginning at 10:00am, for the Junior Calypsonians of St. David’s and St. Andrew’s. That workshop will be held at Bain’s Upper Level.

Parents and Teachers are encouraged to ensure the Juniors take full advantage of the workshops.

Cable & Wireless Grenada is assisting with the workshops by covering the costs of refreshments for the participants of the workshops. Cable & Wireless’ commitment to the developmental aspect of Carnival and Culture  must be applauded.

The Grenada Carnival Committee reiterates its commitment to the growth and development of all things cultural and the writing workshops for Junior Calypsonians are indicative of that pledge.
