The Grenada Carnival Committee and the Grenada Steelband Association proudly announces a grand Steelband Jamboree this Friday.

The TCL Skiffle Bunch Steel Orchesta from Trinidad and Tobago will be matching their skills against Grenada’s finest pan players. This event, which is free to the public, signals the return of steelband in its fullest form to Spicemas. In 2011, pan lovers can expect the Bomb Tune Competition and Pan Yard Judging, which were introduced in 2009 and the traditional Panorama on Pantastic Saturday.

The sweet sound of steel begins its 2011 campaign this Friday with the Pre-carnival Launch Steelband Jamboree where Grenada’s finest comes up against the TCL Skiffle Bunch Steel Orchestra from 6p.m. on the Carenage

The carnival season begins with the official launch of Spicemas on Saturday June 4th at the Grenada National Stadium.
