I think we need to go back to the days when the service clubs like Lions and Rotaract organized and ran Carnival. Too many people want big money in this thing. It seems to be all about money these days, and this is killing the true meaning of Carnival. Everyone seems to be in on it for the bucks. This is a sad state of affairs. Every year carnival runs a deficit. What bothers me is that Cable and Wireless pays most of the Carnival winners and participants, yet there is always a shortage of money. The revenue from Soca Monarch alone can pay off most of the bills. Every year is the same old crap. B-Mobile has pumped thousands of dollars into the shows. My question is, who is pocketing most of the profits. Utter nonsense. We need to clean and purge that committee.
